Joe Walsh
William Joseph “Joe” Walsh was born December 27, 1961 in North Barrington, Illinois. He received his B.A. in English in 1985 from The University of Iowa and his M.P.P. from The University of Chicago in 1991. Prior to entering government, Walsh worked as an actor, social worker, conservative activist, and venture capitalist. He unsuccessfully ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in 1996 and the Illinois House of Representatives in 1998. In 2010, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for the Eighth Congressional District of Illinois and served one term. After losing his 2012 re-election campaign, he launched his talk radio program, The Joe Walsh Show on WIND in Chicago, which was later nationally syndicated. Walsh lives in Illinois, is married to his wife Helene, and has three children and two stepchildren.
