Donald Trump was born in Queens, New York on June 14, 1946. He initially attended Fordham University but then transferred to the University of Pennsylvania where he earned a B.S. in economics in 1968. Following graduation, Trump joined his father at the Trump Organization and, in 1971, relocated to Manhattan, where he became involved in a number of large building projects. Among his defining projects is the 58-story Trump Tower in downtown Manhattan, which opened in 1982. In 2016, Trump was elected the 45th President of the United States after defeating 16 opponents in a crowded Republican primary. He is first president to be elected without prior military or government experience. He is married to his wife Melania and has 5 children. The Trumps are residents of Florida.

Donald Trump filed with the Federal Election Commission to run for re-election on the same day of his inauguration, February 20, 2017.
