Cory Booker was born on April 27, 1969 and was raised in the suburbs of Newark, New Jersey. He then attended Stanford University where he played football and graduated with a B.A. in political science and an M.A. in sociology. Upon graduation, Booker was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship and attended the University of Oxford where he completed an M.A. in U.S. History. In 1997, he graduated with a J.D. from Yale University. The next year, Booker was elected to the Municipal Council of Newark. Four years later, he unsuccessfully ran for Mayor of Newark but then was eventually elected to the position in 2006 and again in 2010. In 2012, Booker was elected to the U.S. Senate and was re-elected in 2018. Booker lives in Newark, New Jersey and is currently unmarried and in a relationship.
