Andrew Yang
A native of Schenectady, New York, Andrew Yang was born on January 13, 1975. He earned a B.A. in economics at Brown University in 1996 and went on to earn a law degree from Columbia University in 1999. He joined the law firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell and then left to launch Stargiving.com, a fundraising website. After some other entrepreneurial pursuits, he became CEO of Manhattan Prep, a test preparation company. In 2011, Yang founded Venture for America, a venture capital fellowship designed to send graduates of elite colleges to struggling American cities in order to found startups and revive local economies. He and his wife Evelyn live in New York with their two sons.
Andrew Yang announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination on November 6, 2017.
